Shag workshop and party with the Morning Call Jazz Band

Friday July 27th, 2018

Where: Altrimenti, 5 Avenue Marie-Therese, L-2132 Luxembourg

What:

Would you like to dance to fast swing music and test your stamina? Then come and discover this fun partner dance with us!

Collegiate Shag belongs to the swing family of American vernacular dances, that arose in the 1920s, ’30s, and ’40s. It most likely originated in North Carolina, but quickly spread across the United States during the 1930s and as far as Australia by the 1940s. The dance is known for its hopping basic step and high energy footwork that separates it from other forms of swing. It is danced primarily to upper tempo jazz music (usually 200+ beats per minute).

This workshop is suited for beginners.
