The Dancer’s Exploration

This is a course for all our students who are eager to work on their individual dancing, body awareness, connection, dance technique. It is not a typical dance course. We will experiment; we will explore our individual movement; we will question our connection with other dancers; we will challenge our balance and work on turns; we will play around various exercises with the aim of growing as a dancer.

This course is not for absolute beginners: you have danced with us for at least one semester, whatever the type of class you took.

The Tranky Doo

In this course, we will learn a well known solo jazz routine called the Tranky Doo. The Tranky Doo is a jazz dance routine choreographed by Pepsi Bethel and it appears in « The Spirit Moves », a documentary film.

This course is not for absolute beginners: you have done at least one semester of solo jazz and/or feel comfortable with the basic solo jazz moves.

The Charleston Drill

In this course we will work on our charleston: we will work on posture and movement, quality of kicks, movement through space with our charleston. We will improve the basic steps and find our way to more advanced solo variations. Working our solo Charleston skills will definitely improve our couple Charleston as well! Be ready to sweat 🙂

This course is not open to absolute beginners: we expect you to have at least basic knowledge of charleston. We will dance solo in this course.

Currently, no restrictions apply to the organisation of our dance courses at this moment. However, in the event of new measures adopted before or within the course of the autumn and winter, we will have to adapt our rules in order to comply with any new legal rule.

In any event, we still recommend to all students to adopt the following hygienic rules:

Please wash your hands before and after class. Washing your hands with soap and water is recommended over the use of hand sanitizer.
We recommend all students to bring their own water bottle to class. Sharing a bottle is not recommended.
It will be possible to change partner during class, however changing partner is not an obligation and it is up to your individual choice to remain with your fixed partner.
In case you feel ill or are coughing, we kindly ask you to be responsible, do a self test and not join the event.

These hygienic measures are in the interest of our students, teachers and public health.

Thanks in advance for your understanding!
