Anna: “One of the most beautiful things you can say to me is that I look happy when I dance. And oh (wo)man is that true! 😊 While dancing has always been a big part of my life, it’s in Swing that I’ve found a home for the deepest parts of my soul. There’s something truly magical about it – it’s groovy, playful, and full of joy. It brings out my silliest self while also opening the door to deep, meaningful connection with others. Being able to share even a fraction of that joy through teaching is a true pleasure.”
Anton: “After being dragged to a Lindy Hop taster in 2015 – an experience I would describe as mildly traumatic as a tall guy with the flexibility of a garden rake – I figured swing dancing just wasn’t in the cards. But curiosity got the better of me in 2017 and that second chance turned into a rabbit hole I gladly tumbled into. Before long, I was a regular on the social dance floor, happily lost in swing-outs and soaking up every bit of Jazz culture I could find.”
Alex:
“I discovered Lindy Hop in 2016 and immediately fell in love with it. I enjoy swing dancing because it is playful and welcoming. Every dance is filled with joy, fun and surprises. I want to support this wonderful community and give back as much happiness as I received.”
Alexey:
“I started dancing in 2013, initially diving into boogie woogie. I spent those early years traveling, dancing, and exploring other styles like Lindy Hop as a fun addition. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with jazz, and my curiosity also led me to try balboa. Since then, I’ve danced in every city I’ve lived in, and the joy of swing has always stayed with me. I’ve always felt a desire to share this passion, and teaching is my way of giving back to the community that has brought me so much happiness.“
Danielle:
My swing journey actually started way before I ever set foot on a dance floor. As a kid, I played a wind instrument and was fascinated by the brassy, energetic sounds of Big Band Swing. Even back then, something about that groove made me want to move! In 2014, I jumped into the world of Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz right here in Luxembourg. Since then, I’ve been happily collecting other swing dance styles like Charleston, Blues, Balboa, and Shag! In 2019, I took the leap into teaching at SDL. For me, teaching is about more than just steps and counts. It’s about joy, connection, and co-creation – that magical space where two people communicate through movement. I love playing with both leading and following, switching roles and exploring new ways to connect and create on the dance floor.

Gina: “I love dancing — moving with the music makes me feel happy and complete. I discovered Lindy Hop as a young adult and quickly fell in love with its freedom, joy, and connection. Over time, I’ve explored the Swing era, its music, and its culture, which continue to inspire me. In my classes, I share rhythm, musicality, authentic movement, and small routines. For me, Lindy Hop is more than a dance — it’s a way to connect with yourself, your partner, and the music, while having fun and feeling free. I’ve been teaching for over eight years, including Lindy Hop, Charleston, Slow Drag/Blues, Authentic Jazz, and Tap. I teach weekly in Saarbrücken and travel across Europe to share my love of swing and connect with dance communities. “
Eric: “Since I started dancing Lindy Hop, one thing is certain : I can’t get enough of it ! Put on some swing music and my body will start bouncing.
Building a conversation with another dancer while being connected to the music is what fascinates me. It’s what makes each dance unique. So let’s connect and dance !”
Maria: “I started dancing swing in Luxembourg in 2021 and I immediately felt a deep connection to it. Dancing is for me a means of self expression and communication. Sharing the joy of music and rhythm with the other dancers is one of the most special things I can think about. This is what brings me to teaching: after all, dance is all about fun!”
Morgane :
“One day, a dear friend asked me to join him at a Lindy hop social dance, assuring me that I would love it and that I would never stop dancing after just one try. Well, he was absolutely right ! I discovered a joyful, free, and energetic dance that makes it impossible not to smile. Even more than that, it introduced me to a wonderful, welcoming community, both here in Luxembourg and across countries ! ”
Ingrida:
“I fell in love with swing dancing back in my university days and haven’t stopped since! I’m one of the founding members of Swing Dance Luxembourg asbl, where I volunteer as a teacher and help spread the joy of Lindy Hop. I’m all about good music, good vibes, and good footwork — I love swing tunes, DJing at social dances, and diving into the rich history of the jazz era. For me, it’s not just about the steps — it’s about the community, the connection, and the pure fun of dancing together.”

Philip: “With a fresh approach to Lindy Hop, I bring enthusiasm and creativity to the dance floor. My goal is to inspire others to find their rhythm and enjoy the playful spirit of swing dancing.“
Terje & Sjouke : “We started teaching blues, because we couldn’t otherwise. We believe that dance is more than just movement—it’s a language of the soul. It’s all about feeling the music deep within and allowing it to guide your every step. We interpret dance as a conversation, a silent dialogue between partners, and sometimes silence is talking incredibly loud. The sensation of being immersed in the dance with your partner, to feel the subtle cues and responses that create a seamless dance experience together.
Our mission is to spread the love for blues dancing and share our belief in the power of dance. In our classes, we aim to create an environment where you can forget the outside world and immerse yourself fully in the dance, while interpreting the emotions of the music.
We are constantly developing our own style, searching for new music, finding new expressions, looking for new possibilities to experiment and practice. For us it’s a journey, a process, and ongoing change. Today we dance differently from yesterday, and tomorrow it will have evolved again.”
Vassia: ” I discovered LINDY HOP in 2017 and directly got into it! I love to dance swing and be part of this lovely community! It simply makes me feel so happy! It’s so much fun after all! Every dance is unique, full of joy, improvisation, communication and connection!!! And if by teaching I could add some more value into it, more than happy to do so 😜! “
Vicky
: “I started dancing in 2019 at Swing Dance Luxembourg, where I took my very first Solo Jazz class. From the very beginning, dancing made me so happy that I simply couldn’t stop smiling — and I still can’t.What I love most about swing dance is dancing with many different people. Every dance feels unique, because every connection, every song, and every partner brings something new.
Through swing dance, I found friends, love, and countless unforgettable moments. Now, I’m happy to share my skills with others, so everyone can experience the same joy and freedom that dancing has given me ! “
