Swingluxday Late Halloween fundraiser event

We welcome you to our very first ‘Late Halloween’ event dedicated to raise funds for Altrimenti. Cultural centers such as Altrimenti still have a hard time to function due to covid restrictions, so all help is welcome and what better way to raise funds than having a swing party! All proceeds of the event will go Altrimenti asbl!

We will have dance workshops during the day and a swing party in the evening with the Gramophoniacs.

Course Description
Spooky stealing

Lindy hop couple dancing

This is a lindy hop couple class open to all dancers who have a solid grasp on basics figures in 6 and 8 count. Let’s find some spooky sneaky ways to steal a partner during dancing. ‘Stealing a partner’ is a fun way to change partner during a dance without disturbing the flow of the dancers.

Crazy Charleston

Solo dancing

In this class we will focus on wild and crazy Charleston moves. We will dance solo. Open for beginners to solo Charleston.
Collegiate Shag

Skeleton routine

This is a solo dance routine open to all levels of Collegiate Shag dancers and dancers that have solid lindy hop basics as it will aid you in learning this fun routine!

Registration

Registrations for the classes and party will open on Wednesday 20th of October at 8 PM. The party pass is not included when you take a class during the day. It is recommended to get a party pass in advance as we have a maximum number of attendants for the party.

If you register for the couple dance ‘Spooky stealing’ class, both partners need to register mentioning each others’ name and email.

HYGIENIC AND ORGANIZATIONAL MEASURES RELATED TO COVID-19

As part of the return to couple dancing with a possibility for dancing without masks and distancing restrictions, the event will be held according to the ‘CovidCheck’ regulations. Below measures are based on governmental information. To find the latest info on Covid-19 measures from the local government, please check here.

  • To enter each individual course you will need to present a valid CovidCheck certificate, which is a digital or paper proof that you have been either vaccinated against COVID-19, received a negative COVID-19 test result (PCR test valid for 72 hours, Rapid antigen test valid for 48 hours) or recovered from COVID-19. The CovidCheck application of the Luxembourg government will be used to check the validity of your QR-code. An invalid CovidCheck will not give you right of access to the course. We recommend to take the paper proof of your Covid passport in case the digital scan doesn’t work at that time. After November 1st, Rapid or self tests at the entrance are not accepted as entrance policy for a CovidCheck event.
  • You will need to come at least 15 minutes in advance of your class in order for us to have time to check you in. It will not be possible to enter the class without having been checked-in.
  • You will need to wear a mask after entering Altrimenti until the point where you have been checked in. After check-in, it is up to your individual choice to wear a mask or not.
  • Students are required to wash their hands before and after class. Either in the restroom (to the left hand side before entering the classroom at Altrimenti) or by using the hand sanitizer station at the entrance of the class room. Washing your hands with soap and water is recommended over the use of hand sanitizer.
  • We recommend all students to bring their own water bottle to class. Sharing a bottle is not recommended.
  • It will be possible to change partner during class, however changing partner is not an obligation and it is up to your individual choice to remain with your fixed partner.
  • The total amount of participants will be 15 couples for a couple class and 30 participants for a Solo jazz class.
  • In case you feel ill or are coughing, we kindly ask you to be responsible and not join the class for that week. In case you return from international travel, please respect quarantine measures if at all applicable to you.
  • Above measures are in the interest of our students, teachers and public health. Failure to comply with these measures will result in expulsion from classes. Thanks in advance for your understanding and we look forward to see you back at Swing class!

THE ABOVE MEASURES COULD BE SUBJECT TO FURTHER UPDATES ACCORDING TO GOVERNMENT RULES.
