Practice sessions
Dear dancers,
As we all know, practice makes perfect!
Therefore we’d like to launch special practice sessions to offer you a safe space where you can practice class material or any other move and technique you’d like to work on and explore!
Practice sessions are an important addition to the classes you might be taking and to social dancings. They have a different and specific purpose.
By contrast to a course, you will be practicing by yourself, be it alone, with a partner or with your classmates. You decide on the material you want to work on: maybe the week’s course material, something you have seen in a workshop, a video that you’re fond of, etc. You decide whether you want to practice alone or to meet up with another dancer to practice together. While teachers and/or more advanced dancers might be around for their own practice, they’re not going to lead the session for all of you. Ask them for advice if they have time, but don’t expect them to lead your practice session. You’re responsible for your own practice and – believe us – this will increase your learning curve!
By contrast to a social dance, a practice session is the moment when you will give feedback to your practice partner and try out different ways of leading/following your move in order to fine tune your dancing. Note that, at a social dance, we do not give feedback except where a dancer explicitly asks for it!
Price
Practice sessions are for free and it’s not necessary to register in advance. Just come to practice!
