Swingin’ Christmas December 9th 2023
Dear dancers, dear students,
Christmas is around the corner. Therefore we would like to bring our community together and to celebrate! We have planned two special classes for you and we invite you all to join our afternoon tea dance with our lovely local DJ team, a cake buffet and our students’ shows! All groups will have the opportunity to share a little choreography they have worked on during the Fall 2023 semester.

This class is open to all students who have at least one semester of experience in solo dancing.

Grooving the Lindy like the Savoy champions

Find the groove of Lindy Hop! This class is all about the music, the rhythms, the groove of the dance. Let’s get inspired by the dancers of the Savoy Ballroom (see them dancing in the Spirit Moves documentary, starting at approximately 22:35 https://youtu.be/h0m6gNv_njM?si=gGjX_Cg-8TbZk3se ) and explore the qualities of our movement in connection with the music.
This class is open to all Lindy hoppers who have at least one semester of experience. Sign up for the class and let’s decide together on spot who will lead, follow and dance as a switch!

Location
The event will take place in Altrimenti. See you in Salle Rheinsheim, which is the main room where we usually dance in Altrimenti.
ℹ️ We’re lucky that the rooms in Altrimenti have a proper and good wooden floor. In order to protect that floor, indoor shoes are required for all dancers! Please make sure to wear shoes that do not leave marks on the floor.
Registration
You can sign up with or without a partner. Both classes require prior solo jazz or lindy hop dancing experience. Please read the descriptions carefully. None of the classes is suitable for absolute beginners.
