Choosing Your Level

All dancers are encouraged to self-assess honestly and choose a class where they can grow comfortably and confidently. Each level is designed for at least two semesters of development, with progression based on readiness, not speed!

If you’re unsure which class suits you best, write us a message, our teaching team is happy to guide you.

Course Descriptions

Lindy Hop Essentials
with
Anna & Anton

Discover the joy of social dancing in this beginner-friendly Lindy Hop course. From your very first class, you will learn the foundations of leading or following, connect with a partner, and start improvising on the social dance floor. You’ll quickly gain the confidence to dance through an entire song, whatever the tempo.

Throughout the course, we will explore the basics of rhythms, movements, and techniques of Lindy Hop while discovering the rich history of Jazz dance and the vibrant music that gave birth to Swing. No previous dance experience is required—this course is designed for complete beginners and anyone curious to step into the world of Swing dancing.

This level is also a great fit if you already have some Lindy Hop experience but would like to strengthen your fundamentals, especially if you:

  • don’t yet feel fully confident on the social dance floor,
  • find switching between leading and following challenging,
  • still feel your dance is more technical rather than musical
  • want to feel more comfortable to start improvising on the social dancefloor

Lindy Hop Essentials+
with Maria & Philip

Throughout the semester, you will strengthen your ability to lead or follow with clarity, explore new rhythmic possibilities and variations, and develop smoother, more expressive movement.

You’ll learn to react more naturally to both your partner and the music while learning to improvise and discovering new transitions and ways to make your dancing feel creative, comfortable, and personal.

This level is ideal if you:

  • feel confident with the basic Lindy Hop vocabulary and want to deepen your skills in one role,
  • would like to dance with more flow, musicality, and confidence,
  • want to improve your connection, timing, and ability to adapt on the social dance floor,
  • are looking to develop and strengthen your foundations before moving on to the Progression level.

Lindy Hop Progression+
with Morgane, Alex & Eric

This course is designed for dancers who have solid experience in Lindy Hop and want to continue developing their dancing through deeper technique, musical understanding, and more advanced partner connection.

In Progression+, we will refine your movement quality, expand your Lindy Hop vocabulary, and challenge your ability to adapt and improvise with clarity, style and confidence. Through focused work on rhythm, musicality, connection, and technique, you will begin to develop a more individual and personal approach to dancing — while staying rooted in the authentic spirit of Lindy Hop.

This level is ideal if you:

  • feel confident in your primary role and want to deepen your ability to dance with freedom and intention,
  • are ready to explore more challenging concepts in rhythm, communication, and styling,
  • want to improve your ability to improvise and adapt to different partners, music, and situations on the social dance floor,
  • are curious about the history, culture and legacy that shape the dance of Lindy Hop today

Progression+ will help you develop greater body awareness, stronger partner connection, and more control in your dancing, while guiding you to start developing your own style and expression.

This course is for dancers who have solid experience in either the leader or follower role and want to take their dancing to the next level with more depth, nuance, and expression.

Lindy Hop B-role
with Danielle & Vassia

This course is designed for dancers who already feel confident in their primary role (leader or follower) and are ready to explore the other side of the partnership. The B-role class invites you to dive into your “other role” with curiosity, awareness, and an open mind.

Here, you’ll build new neural pathways, expand your perspective on partner dynamics, and grow your whole-body understanding of Lindy Hop. The aim isn’t just to switch roles, but to deepen your overall dance ability, increase empathy in partner work, and support role fluidity across the community.

This course is for you if:

  • You’ve completed at least two full years of classes in your first role.

  • You want to explore the other role in a structured, focused environment.

  • You’re eager to improve your connection, musicality, and overall dance clarity.

B-role is also a prerequisite for joining the Expression level, as it helps build the adaptability, understanding, and whole-body intelligence expected at advanced stages of Lindy Hop.

Whether your goal is to become a flexible switch dancer, a more grounded partner, or simply a more complete dancer, this class offers an essential step on that path.

Lindy Hop Expression
with Ingrida & Alex

This course is for experienced dancers who want to refine their movement, musicality, and partner connection while deepening their understanding of Lindy Hop’s cultural roots.

You’ll explore improvisation, whole-body awareness, and storytelling through dance.
Regular social dancing, self-reflection, and completion of the B-role course are required to join.

*For the Lindy Hop Expression course you can register in one of three roles: Leader, Follower, or Switch. If you register as a switch, you’ll be able to choose your role (i.e. leader or follower) for each class individually. We assume that where there are large imbalances for a particular class, Switch dancers will balance out the class. To register as a switch dancer, please write “Switch” in the comment box of the registration form.

**For both blues dance courses you can register in one of three roles: Leader, Follower, or Switch.
