Course Descriptions
Lindy Hop Essential classes (10,5h)
Learn the foundations of Lindy Hop, focusing on rhythm, connection, and basic figures.
This level is great for absolute beginners to Lindy Hop (and any dance).
In order to allow more focused learning during the shorter 7-week semester and help you be on the same level as other students in the next set of classes in September, you will focus on one role. You will be able to register as either a leader or a follower, whether you’re signing up solo or with a partner.
You are also welcome to enrol in this course if you know a bit or quite some of Lindy Hop, and
- find it challenging to make your dance more musical rather than technical,
- want to learn a different role
This special Lindy Hop Essentials class will be held on Tuesdays from 19:00 to 20:30, consisting of 7 lessons of 1 hour and 30 minutes each. Taking this class will enable you to skip ahead and join the next level in September.
This series will be taught by our local teachers Anna and Anton.
❗There is often a long waiting list for followers: Sign up as leader or couple❗
Solo Jazz choreography – Learn the Shim Sham (3h)
Learn the most famous jazz routine in the swing world – a must for social dance floors everywhere! Open to dancers with 1 semester or more of Solo Jazz or Lindy Hop experience.
This series will be taught by our local teachers Melissa and Philip.
Partnered Shim Sham (3h)
Learn the partnered Shim Sham routine inspired by Junsuk Moon and Ehwa!
Learn a partnered version of a solo classic. Everyone has seen dancers do the Shim Sham, also called the “anthem” of tap dance. It is a Jazz standard. Junsuk and Ehwa worked on a coupled version inspired by the solo routine to Tain’t What You Do.
Join us to give this classic a little twist by coupling up. This is a fixed role class, sign up as leader or follower.
To join the class you should have a bit of Lindy Hop experience, Essential completed (at least 1-2 semesters of Lindy Hop). It is also an advantage if you already know the Shim Sham routine.
This series will be taught by our local teachers Melissa and Philip.
Lindy Hop Meets Solo Jazz (3h)
In this class, you’ll explore how Authentic Solo Jazz can enrich and inspire your Lindy Hop
dancing. We will learn how to bring your solo jazz moves into couple dancing, helping you feel more expressive and playful on the social dance floor.
We will work on transitions between solo and couple dancing, solo jazz-inspired variations, breaks, and ways to maintain clear communication while adding individual expression. This course is ideal for dancers who want to make their Lindy Hop feel more dynamic and personal.
Participants should know some basic Solo Jazz moves and already feel comfortable and confident dancing Lindy Hop.
Solo Jazz experience needed: participants should already be familiar with some basic steps such as Boogie Forward/Back, Rocks, Shorty George, and Fish Tails. If you do not know these steps yet or want to refresh them, we recommend also joining our Solo Jazz Beginner Course, which takes place during the first four Thursdays and provides the perfect preparation.
Lindy Hop experience needed: ideal for Lindy Hop Progression students or above (Spring 2026) or dancers who already feel comfortable and confident social dancing Lindy Hop.
This series will be taught by our local teachers Vicky and Alex.
Solo Jazz – A tribute to Josephine Baker (3h)
Morgane will guide you through immersive dance classes inspired by Josephine Baker. She was an icon of freedom, energy and bold expression. You will explore her unique style, blending Jazz, the vibrant world of Charleston and a powerful stage presence. This class is open to all levels.
The experience encourages movement, emotion and bold, playful self-expression through dynamic dance practice.
This series will be taught by our local teacher Morgane.
